LABORATORY EXPLORATION OF TOLFENPYRAD AND NATURECIDE IN TOXIC SUGAR BAITS AGAINST AEDES AEGYPTI

چکیده
Attractive toxic sugar baits (ATSB) are an effective mosquito control tool based on feeding behaviors and oral ingestion. There is a demand from consumers for more active ingredients. Torac 15EC, containing tolfenpyrad, registered insecticide of agricultural pests, which may mean transferability to control. Another option, Naturecide Pest Management (NPM), botanical cedarwood cinnamon oils adult mosquitoes via contact. This study evaluated tolfenpyrad formulated essential oil blend added (TSB) against Aedes aegypti, compared with positive 1% boric acid bait, untreated In this experiment setup, ingestions at 1%, NPM (of finished product) TSB, by female Ae. aegypti resulted in average mortality 48 hrs were 71%, 73% 95%, respectively. The results suggest that ingestible Management, TSBs be potential strategies programs, but the mode action kill still needed addressed.

Rhamnolipids: solution against Aedes aegypti?
Aedes aegypti mosquitoes are the primary transmitters of dengue fever, urban yellow fever, and chikungunya viruses. This mosquito has developed resistance to the insecticides currently used to control their populations. These chemical insecticides are harmful to the environment and can have negative effects on human health. Rhamnolipids are environmentally compatible biological surfactants, but...
متن کاملCharacterization of dengue virus in Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus spp. of mosquitoes: A study in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan
Dengue is a vector-borne disease caused by dengue virus. According to the recent report of CDC that one-third population of the world are at high risk with Dengue fever. The prevalence of the dengue hemorrhagic fever was found more in tropical and sub-tropical regions of the world. Aedes mosquitoes was reported as the main cause of transmission of dengue virus. So the current study was planned ...
متن کاملLaboratory evaluation of pyriproxyfen and spinosad, alone and in combination, against Aedes aegypti larvae.
In this study, the efficacy of pyriproxyfen and spinosad, alone and in combination, was evaluated against the dengue vector Aedes aegypti (L.). Larval bioassays were carried out on susceptible mosquito larvae to determine the concentration-mortality responses of mosquitoes exposed to each insecticide alone and in mixture. Synergism between pyriproxyfen and spinosad was determined by the calcula...
متن کاملLarvicidal Efficacy of Temephos against Aedes Aegypti
Three new formulations of temephos (LAVIFOS SG 1%, MOSQ SG 1% and AZAI-SS ZG 1%) were evaluated for larvicidal efficacy against larvae of Aedes aegypti (L.) in waterstorage jars under field-simulated conditions. LAVIFOS SG 1% and MOSQ SG 1% are sand granule formulations, whereas AZAI-SS ZG 1% is zeolite granule formulation. Each formulation contained 1% temephos as an active ingredient. Each fo...
متن کاملWolbachia establishment and invasion in an Aedes aegypti laboratory population.
A proposed strategy to aid in controlling the growing burden of vector-borne disease is population replacement, in which a natural vector population is replaced by a population with a reduced capacity for disease transmission. An important component of such a strategy is the drive system, which serves to spread a desired genotype into the targeted field population. Endosymbiotic Wolbachia bacte...
